Not sure but we have been 3 times without injections to Sharm and have been fine.

Ether Sterling or Dollars, probably best with Sterling and a bit Egyptian.

1. No injections are compulsory - but the usual diptheria, tetanus, polio, typhoid, hepatitis are recommended.

2. Take British pounds and change them to Egyptian over there - you'll get a better rate.

3. You do not need a Visa for Taba Heights. Unless you intend to take a trip outisde the Sinai region - ie Cairo and the pyramids. This Visa can be bought at the airport. It will be a single entry visa - so if you also take a trip into Israel/Jordan you should visit Cairo etc first.

The practice nurse at your local surgery will tell you all about the injections. It is worth having them if you can despite what some people may think. Better safe than sorry when you are a long way from home.

Moneywise, forget dollars! Why lose again on the exchange rate when you've already had to use sterling to buy them! Sterling is accepted everywhere in Egypt and you can obtain a small amount of Egyptian pounds to take with you easily in this country. There are now ATM machines all over Egypt where you can obtain currency with a debit/credit card but it's worth trying to find out if there is one in or near to your Hotel in Taba.

If you are planning to stay in Taba for the whole of your holiday, you do not need to purchase a visa. This should be explained to you by the rep when you arrive in Egypt. There is a lot of info regarding visas on a "sticky" at the top of this forum.
