Came back through Boulogne sur Mer yesterday and for the first time in years there was actually someone from immigration on duty who looked at our passports. When we said that it was nice that someone was checking we were told by the snotty woman that every port has 24 hour immigration cover. When we told her that for at least the last 5 years we had never been checked when passing through Calais and usually there was not even anyone in the immigration booth she got really bumptious. I did think afterwards that we might be the car chosen for stripping down when we got the Dover but we were waved through as usual.
