Hi Everyone,
Ok its time to get the next holiday booked. I always must have a holiday to look forward to and thought I would get some advise from you lot.
We toyed with the idea of Florida next year, but all our friends have advised waiting until Cameron is nearer 7 to go as he'll enjoy it better.
So that brings us back to Turkey, our initial thoughts were to go to the First Choice holiday village in the Costa del sol, but its around 2k and our budget is about £1500 for the two weeks all inclusive. You get so much better value in Turkey.
Places I have considered are the Titanic Resort or Delphin Palace in Lara Beach, I am able to get two weeks for the three of us for around £1500 at the end of May at both places. Our time for going will probably be middle of May to end of June.
Does anyone have any other recommendations for us. We need somewhere to keep Cameron occupied, hence why we enjoyed the Pegasos Palace and Tropical so much. We also did Club Julian in Marmaris last year which would have probably been good for him now he's a bit older, but we prefer the all inclusive hotel. Cameron will be almost five by the time we go next year, but still needing LOTS of occupying as he is adhd.
I welcome all suggestions! Thanks in advance.

The beach is fine, but the sea shelves a bit so it might not be suitable for your little one, but the lagoon area is ideal, its like a great big pond, very still and shallow and great for young kids.
There is also Lykia World, which I imagine is more like PPalace and Tropical as it has 16 pools, and Club Letoonia is supposed to be nice too.
I don't think there are many places that will be geared up for kids in the way that a holiday village is though .
Thanks for that, I'll go have a look now. I think my heart is really set on the Delphin Palace but the lack of any English speaking people at all is really putting me off.
Thanks for your help!

ive stayed at lykia world too and that was the best hotel ive ever stayed in and theres been a few, highly recommended but very dear
Am really looking forward to it especially from reading the reviews on Trip advisor - the lack of British does not worry me.
I don't need a lot but somewhere to walk in the evening would be good. Also I read somewhere (on here????) that in the brochures they show these hotels next to green fields/trees etc but these are photo-fits and you are often next to a building site because another hotel is going up.
Karen when do you go to Letoonia? I can't wait to hear how you get on, I hope you like it as much as Lykia, I'm guessing it will be similar.

we go on mon wahoooo for a week cant wait, yes i think it will be similar to lykia too but on a smaller scale and with free drinks lol, will make a change for me to have a drink as i normally stay on the fruit juice as cheap booze doesnt agree with me ,so im happy to try the archers and baileys lol, hubby wont know whats happened hes never seen me drunk yet lol, 2 glasses should do it lol, but on a serious note i agree with you re lara area, i too like to go for a walk in the evenings to local bars ,shops etc, i dont like being hotel bound, ive been to antalya and that was nice in parts some areas not so nice and the beach wasnt great, looked a bit shingly and uninviting when we were there easter 05, the hotels do look grand but when i rang the travel agents about delphin palace they said there wasnt anything much outside the hotel so it put me off, then i booked for morocco and look what happened lol
Coincidently, i also priced the holiday village in CDS for 2 weeks 20th july and got priced over £5000 i could nt believe it. It was only for 5 people not 15 that could pay for 3 hols to turkey near enough.

We went to pegasos in July 2005, and had a great time despite it being the dreaded first year that everyone was moaning about.
We toyed with the idea of going back this year, but the price had jumped so much!!
So we went to Olu Deniz to the Belcekiz beach and so glad we did.
Everything was so much better than PP. The hotel is set right on the beach front, in the middle of the resort, and there were so many places to visit in the evenings, which was our main gripe with PP.
One thing which was not as good were all the activities for the kids, but the trips on offer in Olu were fantastic, and soooo cheap.
Often they will give you a free trip to the waterpark if you buy another trip. We did an all day boat trip from 10am till 7.30pm for £5 pp inc lunch!!
The transfer, now the tunnel is open was only 1 hour and seemed to fly by (0ne thing we were dreading)!!
But the scenery once you get there is so stunning, it was worth it.
We love Olu Deniz now, and are well and truly hooked. Will never return to Pegasos Palace, the staff were so miserable, compared to BB, the entertainment was so naff at Pegasos too.
the Pegasos for us, was too big and impersonal, there is a much more village feel at BB.
Hope you find your ideal resort!!
Give Olu a try - think you would love it
I think I'm sold on Olu, but the hotels in the Lara area just look so grand don't they!
Karen, Letoonia is another possibility so many hang off for your review.

OMG Def not worth that I don't think!Coincidently, i also priced the holiday village in CDS for 2 weeks 20th july and got priced over £5000
Bonnie Scotsman, what a fab price!!!! How did you book it? I couldn't get it to come up for two weeks on the Thomas Cook website, it would only show one week and when I called the price I got was just over £1500.
Thank you so much everyone for the replies. I'm still as confuddled as ever though lol It doesn't take much

I liked the look of the BB when we were in olu this year so priced it up but it seems the rooms only sleep 3 so have to get 2 rooms, which works out quite dear as we have to pay for 4 adults.....nicole
If you have one child under 12 and one over 12, with the BB the way I got round it was booking a twin room (they take 3) and a single room. That way I got a child price for the youngest and the single room supplement was only £1 a night for my eldest (must be the cheapest single room supplement in the world!)
It worked out cheaper than the 4 adult price.
When I got there the hotel allocated me 2 of the twim rooms next to each other anyway.
NB Above only works if you have one child age 12 or under.
Can you book this diy or only through a TO?
Also is there a kids club as such, where I can get an hours peace?
Thanks for all your help again.

You need to dig up the Belcekic Beach thread and have a read as it has email addys and website info on it.
Cool, will do that now! Thanks again for your help.
I agree with everyone Give Oludeniz a try as it has got one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Honestly It has got everything for a perfect holiday and i think Cameron&Eddie would love it as well.
Also if you book to Oludeniz its close to lovely holiday towns like Hisaronu and Ovacik, You can see these towns as well
Cheers

It is pronounced Bel check is.
Think there is a kids club, check on the Portland or Thomson website. Did not use it, my youngest was 9 and didnt want to go this year, was quite happy with the pool/beach all day, broken up with day trips.
It is much cheaper to book thru Portland than thomson, and DIY works out dearer than either!!
In peak season, I have found that they are not selling any single rooms at the moment.
But if you want to go out of season, they may still be on sale.
I wanted to go on 23rd July 07 for 10/11 nights but already sold out!!
Cant go for 14 nights as we have to be back home for something by the Sunday, plus there is no single rooms on offer for those dates, and I didnt want to pay adult price for my 10 year old.
Will keep looking though, cos I read somewhere they keep lots of rooms back for people to book direct, and may release them later on.
There were quite a few Turkish families holidaying there, when we were there, I take that as a good advert!!
when we booked in june there were single rooms for 1-3 available at the same adult price for 1 person as in the twin rooms but they diffinately appear to have all gone at least for the summer holidays . we go 23rd july and i wanted to add my sons girlfriend on a few weeks back in a single room but they were all gone. emailed BB and they gave me a price of £75 per room per night for the single room + flight which would of been at least £1300 just for her booking direct. we have now added her into the boys room :shock on our portland booking for just over £700.
