Just had 2 weeks in Platanes near Rethymnon. Weather was excellent and very hot, evenings quite warm too. Apartments were very clean and a short walk from a disappointing beach - very pebbly, as were most of the beaches around us. Went over to Santorini and loved the trip but wouldn't stay there. If anyone wants to ask about the trip, fire away. Had evening trip into Chania which was good too. We found eating in Platanes very reasonably priced and we never managed to eat a starter or a sweet as the portions of the main course were so huge. We had some lovely meals and as I am a veggie, we searched and found some great meals for me too.
