Anyone been to this village and stayed in the Hotel Terramar?
If so I'd love to hear your thoughts anyhting to do with this area.
My big question however is: are there sun beds & parasols to rent on the beach? Any photos I've seen don't seem to show any and I need to recline preferably in the shade of a parasol to really relax!
Hope someone out there can help!

I can tell you it is a very picturesque village with lots of lovely walks but very little night life if that's what you want. I live about 20 minutes for here so during the spring and autumn quite often there for the walks. Yes you can hire sun beds but not sure about parasols, in the height of the summer it is very crowded and lots of life and quite select none of your beer drinking louts with due respect.
If you want to visit other places you really need a car, there is a bus service but not very frequent, of course you could walk but it is also very hilly.
There are many good quality restaurants serving very good food but again a little pricey but it is good.
I do hope you enjoy your stay there.
Sounds my type of holiday. I'll follow up your links.

Here are some pics of llafranc, you wll enjoy it here, some nice boat rides as well, a must is to go to the next bay about 15 mins walk along the coastal path absolutely stunning views into my favourite place calella de palafrugell not to be confused with calella, there is about four small beaches stunning and lots of lovely restraunts so peaceful and relaxing, both were featured on wish you was here a few years ago, and they begged judith chalmers not to reveal it to much as they did not want it spoilt, also if you venture the other side there is another lovely little town called tamarui that is lovely for an afternoon for lunch, hope this helps some webcam links for you as well.

Lots of really useful information. In your opinion would calella de palafrugell be a better choice as there is a hotel there that we are considering?
If it's a beach holiday you like than yes, i love it there, so pretty and you have a few beaches and lovely little coves to choose from, and really nice restraunts with lovely views, the sea is very safe to swim in also, to eat out it is not as exspensive as Llfranc, which ever you choose you will love it

We're also looking at the Hotel Garbi in Calella de palafrugell. Do you know anything about it? The web site is impressive and rooms look lovely, but I also like the Terramar as it is right on the beach.
Don't know the Garbi, but looking at the hotel it looks very nice, i have looked at both on various websites and i would find it hard to chose between hotel and resorts as they are both lovely, the terramar have fridges in the rooms which is ideal as we usually hire one, also on the seafront which would have lovely views, is this a diy holiday, if it is check out all the different sites for prices as they can differ quite a lot, whichever you choose you will love it
Took the bull by the horns and booked the Garbi in Calella. Very difficult to choose as you say, but the Garbi offered a balcony & the Terramar didn't and the Garbi website is very impressive. Also has a pool, which isn't essential but might be handy. We've booked through Thomsons. Thanks for your help on this one. Looking forward to exploring this area as it looks beautiful!
It does look great at the Garbi, hope you have a great time, hope to hear from you when you have been
I will Pippy, when I return In July 2007.......so long away!
