Can her brother not give them a "budget"? It sounds like a wondeful present but may just stress the couple out, trying to find somewhere cheap rather than where they would choose.

They are looking at spending about £500 on the actual holiday.That's why I thought that the balearics or mainland spain might be best??

I have to say I've been looking in loads of brochures for next year. We usually go to Greece and I've been shocked at how expensive the prices for spain (mainland and islands) and turkey are compared to what we have been spending on Greece.

So I would seriously consider looking at the greek islands.

Also for a honeymoon Italy is very nice though i;m not sure about the prices

Could be tricky trying to get a holiday for 2 for £500 in August

any ideas where would be good during maybe September or October then? Again with the same budget, somewhere that will be hot?

The Algarve will still be hot in September and there should be little problem in keeping to budget if you have access to "no-frills" transport and can d.i.y. the holiday.
