Do not, repeat DO NOT accept help from a stranger when you are trying to use a ticket machine. There is a scam going where you only receive a single ticket having paid for a carnet!

Go to the ticket office and ask if there is a 3 day pass available. It used to be called Carte Orange. Incidentally metro and buses use the same tickets.

Go to the ticket office and ask for a 3 Day Paris Visite Care - I think it costs around 17Euro for Zones 1-3 (I'm not sure if this covered Stade du France, but it covers everything else)

we got our metro ticket at the Eurostar terminal at Waterloo which saved hassle later (not sure if you're going by Eurostar though!!)

Actually I think we could have got it cheaper through Thomsons when we booked the trip.....believe it or not!
