Tim this is true a mud slide did a lot of damage there, but fortunately no one was hurt, the Pafos area has suffered badly over the last seven days,

I was taken to some new expensive villas in Peyia near C/B and all there pools and patio's has slide down into a ravine, many of us including me have had electrical damage, I lost my broadband and Sky dish, many lost a lot more in a huge power surge, the thunder was amazing it never stopped rumbling all night with almost permanent lightning, frightning to the extreme and the worst storm I have ever been through in my life, anywhere in the world.

At this very moment 7.am Friday it is throwing it down, we need rain here but this is more than enough, I have hoisted the white flag, and for those that think the eastern med is always hot and sunny, well think again..

Read about it here - 15th October in archive.

We visited Coral Bay last Friday and it was a bit of a mess. Met an old couple who despite a river down the middle of the road were determined to visit a taverne.

Told us they were evacuated after the furniture on the ground floor started to float out to sea.

Good grief - have just read this - our thoughts are with you all - must be terrible! I hope that things improve --------- I suppose us Brits at home often look at Cyprus through rose tinted glasses -----------

Hope everything settles for everyone --- its half term for us and I know just how much so many of us over here save and look forward to just a week over in Pafos --------------- hopefully the worst is over for everyone over there - holiday makers and locals

the Hotel was the Coralia beach, near Coral Bay, but there has been far worse damage to private homes than this bit of mud.
