Have to say I wasn't too impressed with the Nizmar when we looked around last year.
Have you thought about the Osborne Resort by St Anthonys chapel that was our favourite for 5 years

why dont you try the csm?? ( colonia santa maria) i found it brilliant!! its down csm road just off the baga main road and its practicly on the beach and close to everything,

We stayed at the Nizmar about 2 years ago and it was just fine, clean and staff very helpful, maybe it's gone downhill since then - shame if it has
Going to Goa 4 weeks today and can't wait, going to the Palmarinha resort - anyone got any views on this

We stayed at the Nizmar in February and it was spotless . must admit though we had a look at some other rooms while we were their and they were not as good as ours, we were in the block at the back of the pool bar.The only downside for us was we seemed to be getting taxis all the time because we always seem to eat and drink in Candolim or sometimes Baga, and there was not much around the hotel except the Midas Touch we went twice, first time good second time rubbish, wont be a third time.They always had something going on at the hotel theme nights,entertainment etc. so they did make an effort but we are not ones to be hanging around the hotel but at least they made the effort and the staff were all nice.Allan.

Hubby and I have been to the nizmar twice and I have not a bad word to say about it the staff were brill they had music and shows most nights ...they do a weekly gala night type thing and it was lovely...the steaks the hotel done were beautiful ...I will go back again im just gona try Candolim this year (colleen) we were in block 3

I enjoyed the nizmar but don't like staying at the same place twice. food was spot on though

Does the hotel have to be in Calangute? why not try Candolim, there are a lot of good hotels there and I would highly recommend the Sunset Beach hotel, if you look in the hotel reviews you will see it has some excellent reports.

hello hullsmoggy, im syating in the osbourne for a couple of weeks not been there before. its been recomended by a few people i know and dont know but all in all i dont think you can go wrong there the rooms are supposed to be pretty basic but clean. im going for new year got a really good price ity seems to be the cheapest around for value and location!

hopefully it will live up to its reputation when we go...

Hullsmoggy, me and the other half are certainly NO experts having been only once BUT last year we stayed at the Marina Dourada (Arpora nr Baga) and we rebooked the same holiday all over again (29days to go). The hotel is in a great location and it just looks /feels and is special, check it out anyway.
