Hi, Can someone suggest a tour company(s) that will do a tour from London to Rome either by train or flight. I'm wanting to spend approx. 3 days in Rome, 3 in Venice plus any extra places. I'd like a tour of about 7-9 days all total. I'm having trouble trying to find exactly what I'm looking for.
I definately want to see the inside St. Peters and spend some time there. Most tours I've looked at only say "see St. Peters" and don't clarify exactly what that means - having never been to Italy before I'd like to make the best of it. My age is between 55-60. Thanks so much for all your suggestions.
http://www.travelsphere.co.uk do tours of Italy as my brother did a 12 day one. However he said they only spent 1/2 a day in some places so it may not be exactly what you are looking for.

I know that luci
Not sure if you are looking for arranged tours or not, however Citalia do all Italy and have some recommended packages ie Rome, Florence or you can tailor make your own itinerary and they will arrange for you.
thank you so much Luci and Sugarbebe61 for your help. I will try both of them and see what they have to offer. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I found Venice very tiring, lots of walking and steps everywhere in the Doges Palace and on all bridges. We had nowhere near enough time in a day trip but thats a good excuse to return its really magical, enjoy!
http://www.cosmostourama.co.uk but may be mistaken!
They do a massive variety of tours - some by ferrry, some fly and coach.
We have used them 3 times and had fabulous holidays --- the site seeing type - at excellent value!
http://www.archersdirect.co.uk/ to Italy last year.
I flew to Venice for 2 nights then coach to Rome (with a stop in Asissi) for 3 nights then coach to Florence (with a stop in pisa for the leaning tower) for 2 nights.
I couldn't recommend it highly enough, everything was brilliantly organised, the optional excursions were great value and i don't think you could possibly fit any more into an 8 day tour.
I took the platinum tour which meant the hotels were 4 star and situated pretty well in the cities.
If you have any questions send me a PM.
