Hi,
This is my first post here looking for some advice on where to stay in Malta please.
Myself and 3 friends would like to go to Malta at the beginning of March for two weeks. Age range early sixties to mid-seventies, looking for a reasonably-priced hotel, preferably with pool, in a fairly central location.
We are not really bothered about night-life as our evenings will mainly be spent playing bridge - but we do want to be able to get out and about during the day, so easy access to public transport for sight-seeing.
One of our party would not be able to cope too well with steep hills so if we could find a location where a short stroll would take us to local bars, shops, restaurants, etc. that would be really good!
None of us has been to Malta before so all suggestions would be very gratefully received!
Thank you.
My Mum always goes to the Santana Hotel in Qawra which is close to all the shops, restaurants and the bus station (you can get anywhere you want on the buses). She is 82 and finds no problem getting around. I am sure the hotel has an indoor pool. It does get reasonable reviews too. Take a look at the Air Malta companies such as Chevron, Mercury Direct and others.

Hi Sandra, taking in to consideration your requirements, I would highly reccomend either The Marina Hotel in Sliema, The Fortina Spa in Sliema or The Plaza Regency Hotel in Sliema, all the hotels are close to bars and restaurants but the Marina is very close to all these things especially a fine array of different kinds of shops, please feel free to ask any questions and I will be happy to help you, I also fully agree with pippa about using Mercury Direct or Chevron Air Holidays you get some pretty good deals with them in Spring
Thanks so much for your advice - I'll look into your suggestions for hotels, resorts and the two holiday companies mentioned.
