Hi, I know it's early in the season but does anyone know if Coco Beach was "washed" away? I've heard it's a bit of a gem and it's on my list of places to visit while we're there, the last post I saw mentioned it may have been badly eroded in the monsoon. Can anyone give an update?
Many thanks
Jules
Jules take it of your list...its not nice not clean and not worth a visit ....there is a lot of posts on here r/e coco beach ...go back a few pages and you will see for yourself no way would I waste a day going to it .....colleen
I agree Colleen, only been once stayed for an hour and left, the sea looked filthy as it is on the mouth of the river, certainly not worth spending a day there.
no sellers and 10 mins in a taxi from candolim, its not as bad as some make out
anyway, has it been washed out in the monsoon??
Pretty beach but dirty because it's on the estuary. I absolutely definitely wouldn't go in the sea there!
Neither would I it stinks of dead fish and there is loads of dead sea snakes and crabs legs
Hmmm think I may change my mind about going there then!! Thanks for the advice
We have been to Cocoa Beach and wouldn't consider going back, especially when you've walked to the far end of the beach to see the residential shacks and the people using the rocks below as their loo!! uugh!!
I thought i was turning into a man lol
Dont bother with Coco beach. Last time I went to Goa I stayed at Reis Magos which is close to Coco beach. Only went there once - never again.
That does it, definitely struck off the list now. Thanks for saving me a wasted trip!
Just came back from Goa and was told Coco Beach is a complete mess at the moment cos of the monsoon.
got to be honest, i loved coco beach!
i think a lot of the colour of the sand at coco beach is due to it being at a river mouth so its very silty, if you walk far along most beaches in goa (near the big resorts) you'll find folks washing & other nasties in the sea. & im sure theres a big pipe that leads from calangute centre & outlets right on the beach.........whats that for, dont really want to know. we found coco beach good for nervous swimmers like my (60+ yr old) mum in law as its very calm & flat & not very deep. if your concerned just keep you head out of the water. ive swam there right under the water quite far out on many occasions & never had any ear/eye infections or problems but then maybe i have a good immune system. personally if you fancy id why not go for a day & have a look & see what you think?? you can always get your taxi driver to wait if you decide not to stay & get him to suggest another beach.
coco beach was the only bad time we had ...silt,dirty water and dead snakes everywhere ...ah well
I prefer the beaches with cleaner water were the snakes can survive
