Some hotel reviews HERE that may help you a bit, ignore the one for the Amaryllis as this has been placed in the wrong hotel totally and is probably giving the wrong impression (maybe admin can remove it), also some various links and info HERE
Hope this helps a bit

Stayed in Perissa a couple of years ago at the Artemis hotel. My bedroom was in the roof accessed by a spiral staircase.....wonderful. It was a lovely resort , quite close to Kamari - separated by Mesa Vouno a giant rock. The "centre" if you could call it that is a large church on the square with a plentiful supply of bars and restaurants overlooking the bay. I didn't think I would like the black sand but after a couple of days I didn't notice the colour. We visited Kamari via a speedboat also went on the bus to Fira and Oia both superbly atmospheric towns cascading down the caldera to the sea. I think the whole of the island congregates in Oia to watch the sunset.....the click of cameras must be heard for miles!
Well worth a visit!!

I can recommend Santorini although we stayed in Kamari and not Perissa, so I'm sorry I can't help you put with accomodation. As stated in a previous post Oia is well worth a visit. Even if you can't make it for the sunset the scenery is also breathtaking during the day. We hired quad bikes and explored most of the island in a few hours, it was fantastic. One note of caution - choose carefully where you eat and drink as prices varied immensly, whilst the standards were high everywhere. Have a great time wherever you choose to stay.
The hotel was 2 star but was easy 3, pushing 4
Very clean with a lovely pool and free air conditioning and safe in rooms.
Perrissa is lovely with loads of restaurants and bars which we tried many of them .
As it's quite a small resort, prices didn't vary much from the main street to the beach front restaurants as they are all competing for the same holiday maker although it tended to get a bit more expensive near the far end (next to the cliff).
Average evening meal for 2 adults 1 child with wine/beer/ water and soft drinks about £20-25
2x sun loungers and umbrella about 7 euros and bar service on the beach
many bars selling large beer for 2 euros and cocktails for 3 euros.
Plenty tour operators on the main street so shop around for good deals.
Went to the volcano, Fira and Oia for the sunset....bit of a disapointment as it was overcrowded, overpriced and in my humble opinion over rated..sorry I know many HT reviewers rated this but not for me.
Took the water taxi to Kamaria (sp?) for the day. Be warned this little boat does not tie up to a jetty..you wade out to it and climb a ladder, same to disembark.
Weather was red hot and even on the days when the wind blew strongly ((it has a name but I can't remember) it was still hot. Just keep a good hold of your lilos as we lost one but it looked nice to see it skipping at high speed across the sea to freedom
It is also absoulutly true that the black sand gets red hot so don't forget your flip flops
Would definately go back
Go for it

The wife and i stayed at Perissa in June/July this year and it was great! At first glance it looked if it was going to to be a lot more livley than we are used to (we both like small and quiet) but we found that it could be as busy or quiet as you wanted it to be. There are the big loud trendy beach bars on the beach road along the front or take a walk down the main? road and you can find some realy good tavernas and bars where you can sit and have a quiet drink.
If you go, try Bob's bar good music and very friendly staff and best of all.... large draught Amstel only 1euro50 all day!
We stayed at the Athina Apts. just off the main square by the church and you could sit on the balcony for a night cap and not hear a single noise coming from the resort centre.
We have stayed at Perissa and thoroughly enjoyed it. Check out Hotel Smaragdi Village through Kosmar, excellent Hosts with an equally excellent Greek Night on a saturday, bookable in advance and open to non-guests. This place also has its own website.
