Well it all went pear shape this morning took my wife and son to Cardiff airport at 4.30 this morning, flying at 7.00am to Rovanneimi with First Choice on a day trip to meet Santa, I get a phone call at 9.00am, can you come and pick us up they have cancelled the trip as the aircraft has a technical fault, I know these thing happen but my son is 8 and this may be the last year that he believes in Santa, we will find out Monday pm if they can re-book my wife and son on another date

Aw I am really sorry to hear that. It must have been a huge disappointment. I truly hope that they are able to rebook in the next few weeks.

I really really hope that they can rebook. This may be in their favour as there is no snow really there at the moment. Hopefully if they get rebooked the snow will be thick and plenty. I shall keep my fingers crossed for your wife and son.

We are due to fly out on a day trip Saturday for what sounds like a complete waste of time and money.
TBH I would much rather they rang and cancelled so we could re-book in a couple of weeks to give the snow a chance to fall.

Hi, don't be too disappointed, looking at the webcams the snow is coming back so next Saturday should be nice and snow covered
Oh I do hope so.. somehow husky rides and slegh rides on grass isn't going to be quite the same

Well First Choice have made up for the disappointment experienced yesterday, they have put on another flight for this Saturday, give £50 per person back as a goodwill gesture and an extra hour and a half in Finland and have promised to make the day more special than normal.
Just hope there will be plenty of snow next Saturday

Have only just read your first post Maurice, and what a huge disapointment for them both......but roll on Saturday now.

Reading on another forum a person has returned from Rovanneimi today and there is snow and it was snowing.
