Hi Russ. Don't know where you are staying in Fuengirola, but do know you won't go hungry on Christmas Day. Obviously, all the really good places are fully booked by now, but Fish Alley behind Hotel Puerto will still have lots of culinary options open to you.
Moochers, Don Pe, Portofino and Casa Roberto (four of the really good places) are worth investigating, in case they've had a cancellation, and, if all else fails, there is always China Town.
Up the Paseo Maritimo at Torreblanca, there is a clutch of restaurants where you should be able to feast well on turkey and trimmings - namely Cheers, Sticky Fingers, The Beehive and Wolfgang's.
Hope this helps. Have a Merry Christmas.
Tony.

Thanks Tony, at least we know we'll not go hungry now! We'll be staying at the 'La Jabega' Appartments in the Los Boliches area, any of your suggestions near there?

Cheers,
Russ.

Hi again, Russ. Just back from an extended stay on the coast, and got to know the area around La Jabega pretty well. You are splendidly served by restaurants and bars, with new stuff springing up on your doorstep seemingly every other week. Just along from you, Avenida Los Boliches has several interesting eating places, none of which I can remember the name of.
But there are two streets running parallel to the avenida which are more interesting still. Virtually traffic free, they have lots of bars and restaurants - some Spanish, one Mexican, one Thai, a few English and Irish.
In one street, Calle Poeta Salvador Rueda, is a very good fish-and-chip restaurant, La Parra, which I thoroughly recommend, and the other, Calle Fransisco Cana, is also worth checking out, not least to discover Paloma, a well-frequented pizza place.
Both these narrow streets lead into statue square, behind the Confortel Hotel, where there is a top-notch Chinese restaurant, and two Spanish seafood eating places, one of which is called La Carihuela.
Again, the area is really on the up, and I think you have backed a winner with La Jabega.
As you are almost certain to be there self-catering, I have to recommend a visit to the Village Butcher (right out of La Jabega reception, cross over at the lights, then first -or second- right. You can't miss it, there is a big pig standing outside. Plastic I think!).
You'll be spoiled for choice here, with everything from pigs' trotters to black pudding. Unless you are a veggie, VB is unmissable!
By the way, Cheers, Sticky Fingers, The Beehive and such are just a 15-minute walk away, beyond the Confortel.
A pint of draught San Miguel at The Beehive is £1. Two meals cost a fiver.
Have a Merry Christrmas.
Tony.

Wow it sounds great Tony. I've heard good reports for La Jabega which is why we booked there, I'm glad to hear there's lots going on in the immediate area. We'll definately visit the butchers while we're there!
Flying out tomorrow from Newcastle so I hope we're not affected by the fog like Heathrow is.

Thanks for all your help Tony, I'll probably post a report when we get back.
