I wouldn't with one of the blue/white taxis. But you can always do it using the hotels own car service depending on which hotel you are going to. For instance, Solimans have an office at the Hilton Nuweiba Coral. We went to Dahab with them, the car was booked for 5 hrs (1 hr to Dahab, 3 hrs in Dahab, then the other hour travelling back). The driver waits for you there, or if you prefer, he can accompany you as you look round.

Hi we had a taxi for the day from the Coral sea resort and drove across the sinai desert to St Catherines Monastery and then on to Dahab for a late lunch at a sea food place. It was a fantastic day as the driver dealt with all the security and tolls etc and was able to stop and show us things like an oasis and other local knowledge things. Really good day..some pictures on the sinai album. We used the same driver to go shopping in Old Sharm as he was able to show us where to go and appeared at just the right times to pick us up..Just amke sure you know what you are paying for before you go. If you use blue and white ones at all make sure you have agreed a price before you get in and that it is for all of you, not each!

How much would a taxi be to do the round trip Sharm to St Marys to Dahab then home to Sharm?

Hi...silly thing is I can't quite remember! I think it was about £80 for the four of us...I know it didn't seem too bad for all of us to have driver and car for a whole day...! And it is something else driving across the desert..

We're going in Feb and debating doing something similar

We've always done trips independently before, wherever we,ve been so will give it a go here!!!!!!!
