We're thinking of booking "Discovering Tuscany" and "Lake Garda" with Archers and would like to see any comments from members who have been on some or all of the same trip(s) recently. Older comments (2004 or earlier) on forums suggest some possible difficulties with hotel changes and Archers' customer services.
Also any comments on hotels Grand Hotel Plaza in Montecatini and Splendid Palace in Limone, Lake Garda very welcome.
Possible alternate packages from Thomson or Crystal - any recommendations ?

We went with Thompson 2 years ago to lake Garda with there lakes and mountains they do a package called heights and sights.This includes 4 coach trips to the dolamites,florence Venice and Verona.nice hotel ,food ok, beside the lake,about 2 miles from Malchesne but busses are good so is the walk beside the lake.Great holiday
Went on Venice, Rome and Florence 8 day trip with Archers in june 2005.
Couldn't recommend it highly enough, everything brilliantly organised, hotels superb (4* on the platinum trip) and the optional trips good value.
