Just checked - Ixia! Platanias just outside of Chania should do it!

You'll love it Anne. We are a couple who love Rhodes/Ixia, and love Crete just as much. Stalis is great for s/c, Hersonissos for A/I and s/c. At the moment we're looking for May and September, so no decision as yet.

We/ve never tried Chania, but the pace of life in the area sounds ideal.

Definitely head west rather than east to experience the real beauty of Crete.

You will love Crete it is far better than Rhodes.
