Hi Christine, you don't state where you are staying but I know that Calle Lepanto has street parking which they can park on for free if they are early enough as far as I know it is unrestricted parking, and it's very central It's just past the square where Champions, Cafe Benidorm, Sinatras e.t.c are. It's where Maggie Mays, Sandra Bar and the Flying Handbag are. Hope you know where I mean. Well it's somewhere to consider. (Hope I'm right as it's last year since I last parked there.)

The new underground car parks around the Calypso are all owned by hotels for their guests, you even have to pay if you are staying there. Calle Lepanto as Sue Allen said is a possibility or Calle Gerona but these streets fill up quickly, but you can be lucky and get a spot. If you head up a block from Lepanto to around the Rio Park you are more likely to find a space. Up two blocks from Lepanto you will find loads of space.

We`re staying in Albir and are meeting them in Benidorm.

Will let them know where`s best.

Thanks for the info.

Flying in the morning, I can`t wait.

There is a big underground public carpark underneath the Park del Aiguera, which is very handy for the town centre. I can't remember the price but I've used it once and I'm far too tight to have done so if it was very dear! As said in other posts, if you want to park "on road" in the Levante new town, the further up from the beach you are the easier it gets. The best road I find is the one that runs past the Rio Park (C. Jaen?) because it is quite awkward to get into because of the one way system. You have to access it from Avde Europa.

Just got back and have to warn anyone taking a hire car that the police seem to be cracking down on the parking. We saw two cars towed away from hotel drop off zones and several people getting ticketed for double parking and "zebra crossing" parking. So if you don't want to return to your car to find a little sticker on the kerbside, where once was a shiny hire car, be careful where you leave it! Some of the other parking hasn't changed, along the road outside our apartment block one night there were six cars parked literally bumper to bumper so that you couldn't even cross the road! How they ever get them out again is a complete mystery.
It was noticeable that there were more Spanish holidaymakers around this year (at least in the August week) than usual and less British. This causes a lot of traffic congestion. It would be quicker to walk than to drive through Albir! It quitened off a lot when September started and there are a few more parking spaces now :)

We have been hiring a car for our twice a year Benidorm trip for the past 7 years, so we're well versed on this subject. As long as you stick to the rules and regulations, you generally are fine. Even if you are tempted to 'squeeze' into a spot - DON'T! It's just not worth it, park 2 blocks away if necessary and walk the rest of the distance. We have only had a ticket once and it was the only time we risked parking on a pay zone for 5 mins without a ticket - never again. It only ruins your hols if you get pulled by the law, so don't risk it at all. :D

We are looking to book apartments on the Levante Beach side of Benidorm with car parking
If we cannot secure a parking spot, can anyone tell me what the daily rate is in the underground car parks and if it is safe to leave a car there overnight
Thanks

Looking at staying in the Rincon area this October and then again at Christmas
Although parking spaces are available at some of the apartments we have looked at, they are limited
Are there any public car parks open 24hrs where we can park our car safely and does anyone know the cost
Looking at Halley, Rinconada and Gemelos 22 - if you have stopped there, can you please let me know their parking facilities and fees
Thanks

Excellent advice. I always hire a car and you always have in the back of your mind about the parking problems at times. Just back from staying for 11 days at Gemelos 2 through Beninter and the price was 30 euros which was basically a deposit on the plastic tag key, the 30 euros was refunded on departure. One thing I did notice was the price hike in the petrol prices which have shot up!!

Pipefitter.

I cannot help you with the problem of parking, and it obviously is a problem....
Maybe by August this monstrosity that is being built, bang in the middle of my beloved old town will be open by then.
This was the state of progress a month ago.....

Good luck finding anywhere near the old town! If you can't find anywhere there is an underground car park at the entrance of the Aiguera Park. I have used it but can't remember the cost.

Correct Sanji, as far as I can tell it's at the opposite end of the street from Vincents Village Pub, on the site of the old indoor meat/fish market.

I am going to the Pelicanos next week. I believe it is 10 euro per day to park. Does anyone know if it will be possible to park for free anywhere nearby? I don't know how much I might use the car.

If anyone has a car,and is staying down the Rincon de Loix area, and doesnt mind parking and walking a bit(not suitable for people with walking difficulties).Check out the area above the Hotel Regente.I never failed to find a spot there in August.I think the street was called Ave Monte Carlo. Its easier to get back onto the Ave Mediterraneo also, as the exit is controlled by traffic lights.

Hi,
We are taking my elderly, and not so sprightly now parents to Moraira in March for some winter sunshine. They used to holiday in Benidorm at least a couple of times a year, and loved nothing better than walking along the promenade. We normally take the train down to Benidorm from Teulada, but this time I'll drive, so where would be the best place to park in town, that won't be a nightmare to get to, and that'll be close enough to the seafront to let my parents walk along their beloved promenade again. :D
EDIT: Merged with existing similar thread, which may provide some useful info.

one tip i would pass on is,never park near the market area.if you do move it before 6 am.as you will find a ticket where your car was.the pound for cars is a taxi ride way 5 mins, make sure you take cash..no cards..as for parking bumper to bumper try useing them.its what they are made for,you should try parking in ibizatown...we are to carefull in the uk.in spain its a fine art to get in a gap to small for the car,but a few bumps here and there you get in.the hotel underground carparks cost to much,

I've not edited this piece of video......it's just as it is on the camcorder, I just took a few minutes to film the progress of the car park in the old town, as we were passing.

Sorry for the quality of playback, it's not me, it's the host server.
