Lovely report Elliebee ~ so glad you liked the Riverview ~ it's a truly special place in a fantastic location.

Restaurants...

Riverview was definitely favorite for food, but the Goan Village beat any hands down for atmosphere. This became like our Local, we would always end the night there even after eating elsewhere. Edwin and all his staff are lovely people and really looked after us. 2 of the Waiters even took the day off so they could take us up to old Goa for my Husbands birthday. We spent New Years Eve at the Goan, it was an excellent night, we didn't get to bed until 6.30 the next morning.
We went to Betty's but we must have picked the worst night to go as the service was terrible, they were absolutely packed and couldn't cope, being hospitable as they are, they wont turn anyone away. There were 10 of us on our table, we had all ordered starters, they took an hour and half to arrive but even then they came in stages. Same with the main course, we all ate at separate times. Service was real bad but the food was quite nice. We was going to go back just the 2 of us to see if it was any better, but didn't get round to it, always next time :D
Fisherman's Wharf...Lovely place, a little more expensive but a lovely setting and real professional service. Its a nice place to get dressed up for the evening, food was gorgeous. We had a real special evening there.

Ill post more later on the Taxi's

Have stayed at Edwin's for the past three years. Yes, lovely family. Who took the day off to take you out and about, we know Joycil, Donald and Ross ~ great guys. My favourite food at the Goan Village is their Beef Xacuti and that will be my first meal when I get to Goa, roll on February 10 !!

Madaboutgoa. It was Joy and Donald, lovely lovely guys. They used to sit with us most nights once they had finished their shift chatting till the early hours of the morning. We really learnt a lot about Goa from Donald he was a real interesting guy. Awww I miss them already

Yes, Donald is lovely, really interesting to talk to and very intelligent. Joy has visited Agonda with us on a few occasions; and last year we took him to see our Dentist. I will give them your best wishes.

Taxi driver ~ we always use Alvis, who is a friend of Joy and also Edwin.

Small world, eh !!

Yes Alvis took us there, we also used him to take us back to the Airport and will be using him again next time. Tell Joy and Donald Louise and Tye said Hi when you go back.

I know what you mean by going into shock when you first arrive. That's exactly how I felt. 3 days later you don't notice, and on you next visit you won't notice from day 1

hi, just got back from Edwins, lovely 3 weeks in Goa as usual, glad you had a great time Elliebee, we probably passed each other on the road without knowing. Which one was Donald I can't place the face, the only ones i really know are Sam, Dennis, Alex and of course Subass (spelling) and the quiet slightly older guy with glasses. is Donald the one with rings in his ear? bye!
