I am taking my family to Florida for first time at Easter (2 x 5yr old girls) , for the first week we are doing the theme parks, but are looking for a recommendation for a beach resort in the second week.
As it's our first visit we are looking for tips on best things to do in Florida other than theme parks.

Well, Andrew, you didn't mention your price range so that makes it a bit difficult to steer you in the right direction.
However, if it were my first trip to Florida, I would strongly consider South Seas Plantation on Captiva Island. It's located on Florida's gulf coast down toward Naples. Just a beautiful place.
