wasn't really sure whether to put this under the main Cosmos heading so just in case.......!
I collect my Tesco points and was considoring trading them in for cosmos rewards this year (£2.50 tescos is worth 4 times that in a reward so good deal) and was thinking about having Cosmos deals vouchers . Are the holidays you have to book through the call centre as listed on terms and conditions more expensive than website?
Its not such good sense if it costs loads more money. I know that before when we have gone for Hilton deals you do have to pay the higher price, usually about 15% more without any of the flexible benefits that normally go with that price if you book without deals.
I hope this makes sense!
I haven't booked with Cosmos using Tesco deals but as far as I am aware the deals only apply to brochure prices and not web prices, we are using our deals vouchers to go to Egypt at the end of this year and after pricing up the holiday with Cosmos we are using XL instead as they are working out about £600 cheaper for 2 for exactly the same holiday. After researching my own holiday I would say that yes the holidays with Cosmos are between 20%-30% dearer than the prices you see on their website. If you go to the cosmos website you can request a brochure either by mail or e-brochure and that will give you an indication of the price you will have to pay also remember to add on any regional departure supplements etc.
Hope this is of some help.
Have a great holiday

my family and i travelled with cosmos to gran canaria, using the tesco vouchers in 2005.
i checked out the price online then rang their dedicated clubcard deals telephone line and asked for a quote.
the price for the tesco deal was #115 more expensive.
i asked why this was so and the response was that i was dealing direct with a phone operative and not booking online hence the increased price. bit like using a high street and absorbing their costs.
i was not happy about this so the operartor offered me free travel insurance.
this i took and as we had loads of vouchers it was overall a great deal.
make sure you have the vouchers first before booking as you only have a short time to send them to cosmos for the discount to be valid!
send them recorded delivery too!
all in all i would go for it, but be aware cosmos reps are useless in resort.
i can reccomend the riu gran canaria in maspalomas, whish is where we stayed its excellent.
any more questions let me know.
regards
fawnie
