Banca March for us in El Camison. When we went to open an account we were treated like royalty. We were introduced to the manager Jesus (no not that one  ) & his deputy. We have money transfered in every month from Currencies Direct, they send regular statements, online banking too in english. All direct debits have been taken care of, they have been excellent.

.....for running our apartment in Torviscas, we have an account with Banesto. An english speaking manager, regular statements, and comprehensive online facilities for monitoring all transactions at home in the UK....but, in common with most Spanish banks, there is a charge for their services...we pay approx. 35e per year, plus 20e for a debit card.

Use Banca March next the Gran Tenerife

Always very helpfull and friendly, advised to open a sterling account as well as the euro one, gives us great rates of exchange between the two, also got internet access.

We have opened an account with Banca March. A sterling account in their London branch and a euro account in Los Cristianos for which we have internet access. Exchanges between the two accounts inccur no fees but to be honest I am quite disappointed with the exchange rates that they offer. We are moving to Tenerife in April and want to transfer the money from the sale of house in the UK but at the moment we are getting better exchange rates from Money Transfer companies than from our own bank

Reminder about disclosing personal information

Some members use their full names on these forums, or may have that info available via their personal weblinks. Some also have property address details available via the forums, or those personal weblinks. And some also show dates of birth on their profiles. To now add bank details could be helping those with an interest in identity theft. Please just be careful with how much personal info you divulge on a public access forum, as you never know who is looking through all your posts and building their own personal profile of you !!

I understand those who have a HSBC account obtain better rates with Solbank.

La Caixa near Palm Beach. A very small branch, NO QUEUEING!!!! And they speak perfect English. They deal with everything for me and they are absolutely wonderful..............comprende perfectly!!! Which I feel is the most important thing when dealing with fianances, I am 100% confident that they know exactly what i am asking.

I also have an account with Sol Bank, who are pretty good.............but I use La Caixa as my main account .
