just interested to here how these groups of island compare in terms of cost of living (food, drink etc) weather/sea temperature and general atmosphear/type of visitor. we have done corfu, zante etc and are going to lesvos this year after hearing lots of really good feed back. we are also aware that it is not quite as touristy as some of the other islands and attracts greek holiday makers in addition to the regular influx of us brits and our german and dutch friends. we are so happy that kareoke and only fools and horses will not be openly broadcast out of the bars at night, but do you still get the ''holiday buzz'' in the tavernas and restaurants?

Lesvos is nowhere near as touristy as some of the Ionians and does not rely on tourists for its main source of income. Generally the more touristy the more expensive Where are you staying, Molyvos and Petra have a great buzz in the evenings with a wide range of eateries at all prices, no McDonalds though on our last visit (thankfully). There are no lager lout or 18/30 type resorts on this island and due to its size there are plenty of unspoilt Greek villages. You really need to rent a car to make the most of the island. PS we like cats but yours is really ugly!!
