Hello
My fiance and I enjoy sunny holidays with easy access to beaches in quiet, non-touristy, authentic areas...last year we went to Kalymnos in Greece (can thoroughly recommend) and the year before Vassilikos, a tiny little known part of Kos...this year I fancy the same type of hol but somewhere else..need somewhere we can fly direct from Scotland, will be going for two weeks in July and our budget for accom (b and b) and flights is £1000 for us both...fancy trying maybe France, Italy or maybe Croatia or Bulgaria, don't really have a clue..please advise.
Thanks!
MsH
I've been to Croatia and it's lovely, sunny, green, beautiful crystal sea's, and lots of lovely buildings.
I don't think you can fly to Croatia direct from Scotland. I'd be very interested if anyone knows of a compny that does it.
Bridd Thomsons go from Glasgow to Croatia - have just done a search for you.
Thanks Glynis. I have always fancied Croatia but thought we would have to travel south to go there. Will take a look.
Hi, Bridd. We had a wonderful holiday in Croatia. We booked with Balkan Holidays (a package holiday) and flights were with Croatian Airways from Glasgow. Flight and plane were first class.
we are going to slovenia for whit and will be about 2 miles from croatia so once im back ill do a report , i have been years ago when it was all yugoslavia and it was lovely then
I have had a quick look at the Thompsons' website and have also acquired some travel brochures. Most of the package hols seem to be in half board, full board or all inclusive hotels. We prefer going out at night and trying out local restaurants..has anyone been on a hol to Croatia (or a similar 'new' destination) to a good hotel on a b and b or for that matter, self-catering basis? Now it is May my OH is getting a bit antsy about getting the hol booked and I am keen too! so any advice you can give would be v welcome...
cheers
MsH

Digby, I have the Balkan Holidays brochure and as far as I can see, they only do direct flights to Varna and Bourgas which are in Bulgaria...unless I am reading it wrongly
Anyway, if you could let me know where you went and give me some more details, I would be v grateful.
Ta
Ms H
