Hi guys
I am considering Croatia this summer and have discovered we can fly to Pula from Scotland directly, but according to the resort reports, Pula is not particularly nice...so I am wondering, how easy is it to travel within Croatia once you arrive? I have been recommended a place called Makarska...does anyone know if we could get there from Pula airport without having to drive ourselves?
Any info would be appreciated...thank you, this is starting to drive me mad!
Ms H
I have found this website, don't know if it helps.

But you might be better off to stay in the north of Croatia i.e. Istria , e.g. Rovinj, Porec, unless you want sandy beaches.
I think it would take hours to get to Makarska from Pula. There are no trains along the coast and only a winding road. You can get a public bus. Last year it took us ages to get anywhere in a hire car but bus will take longer. You would be better flying to Split for Makarska (if you can do this from Scotland) or staying on the peninsula near Pula.
