Costa Dorada at New Year

I am thinking of going to Costa Dorada for New Year (first time), Has anyone got any ideas where it would be best to go? what would the weather be like? is there much to do? are most place open? would really appreciate any help - Thanks in anticipation. :

We went between xmas and new year in 2006 , it is very quiet most places are closed. The majority of tourists there will be French who drive down. We went mainly for Port Aventura which was fantastic with fireworks every night & no queues for any of the rides(& one of the best Father Christmas grottos we have seen recently). The weather was chilly about 6-9 degrees c in the daytime & frosty at nights but dry & clear with sunshine all day. We also drove to Barcelona for a day. If you are going with children & want to visit Port Aventura it will be great, if not i would look elsewhere.
