there tends to be building work in or around ayia napa on a regular basis , a cypriot friend who runs a bar once complained that they do little all winter and then just as the spring and season begins they dig up the road outside his bar , cant work in the rain or when its too hot ......... ive just realised my local council must be cypriot run

Yes, would be interested myself as we are going to the Faros Hotel on the 8th June?

Just spoken with a friend who lives outside Ayia Napa. The building work concerned are houses and apartments being built. They've been working since I was there last summer and they were still at it in November on my last trip. They were pulling several delpidated building down near the hotel just past the Eman bus terminus, opposite the Seahorse pub.

She confirms the works are taking longer than expected BUT they should be finished by the height of the holiday season. I would suspect the TO is being cautious to cover themselves in case of an overun on the work. Having said all that my friend informs me and as I too recall the distance is far enough away from the Faros as not to encroach too much anyway.

I've stayed at the Faros on 2 occasions and they're very good at answering emails, it might be an idea to email them for an update now and nearer the time faroshotel@vavlitis.com

Thanks for this information. If anyone would like to know, a friend has recently been out to Cyprus, he did go and have a look for me, He believes that this work should not cause a problem. He did say however that a room on the other side would be of some benefit for the view. I have spoke to my TO and a request has been made.
