Wendy, stayed at the Marriott Mountain for 7 days in 2004 wrapped around a Nile Cruise. Very nice hotel although the Mountain side seemed relatively quiet on an evening, with entertainment taking place on the beach side although we always went into Naama Bay so can't really comment. Very large rooms with all the ameneties expected. There is a large lagoon style pool with central bar in the Mountain side and another large pool with swim up bar on the Beach side. There is a private beach, with beach bar and beach towels are provided clean every morning. The beach area is quite large so the 'entertainment' can be avoided if required. The sea is immediately accessible from the beach (ie no jetty) and there is one section where the coral can be crossed by means of one small step, allowing easy access to the watery wonderland that is the Red Sea.

The centre of Naama bay is however a good 15/20 minutes walk but we found that quite acceptable.

Forgot to mention if booking the SBR choose thomson or portland.

If you go with Hayes and jayes/Kioni etc you will get the tiny rooms and they are not as good.

Thomson has all the big family rooms and the double family rooms which is shown on their website. pay an extra £28.00 each for two weeks and its like having your own flat.
