Thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to it - getting a taster for the weather here already.

Do they do any other sporting type things like tennis (rackets to hire??) and water polo or anything like that? I get a bit bored just lying around.

Hi, we stayed at the Kristal last year and picked a sea view, we were on the 5th floor but still could only just manage to see a tiny bit of sea through the greenery. If you get the rear view you are looking over the Perla hotel and the back street, I personally would go with the sea view but be prepared not to see too much of it.

I've just read your post again and realise you were asking about sea or pool view - I think they will pretty much be the same thing as if you were facing the pool you would also be facing the sea (or trees). If there is anything else you want to know about the hotel let me know.

Alpec. Thanks for your offer. After reading many reviews my wife and I are going B/B as the food in the hotel seems to be a bit of a problem. Also people have said that it is so cheap to eat out and you are not tied to the food in the hotel. How did you find it? do you think we have made the right decision? anything else that you can tell us about the hotel or place would be of great interest to us .Thank you again Paul Johnson. :D

Hi Yes the food can be an problem although personally we never found it too bad at all. If you read reviews for most hotels they mention bad food - bulgarians tend to serve it warm and not hot which is an issue for some - none of our family have ever had stomach upsets whilst in Bulgaria.

The hotel is very clean with large rooms and is centrally located to the main party street providing you don't have a pushchair or wheelchair - if you do you have to walk the long way round which a bit of a trek up hill after a night out. It is far enough up the hill not to be bothered by the noise though. The pool area is OK but very busy - most hotels allow you to use their pools so we normally find somewhere a bit quieter. We have been to Golden Sands 3 times - 4th in June and always stay somewhere new. We absolutely love the resort, we find it friendly, clean, and relatively cheap.

Our favourite area is around the Admiral hotel, if you prefer a quieter location you will need to walk past the Admiral and down towards the harbour. Our favourite restaurant is the Parmy Bar which is just along from the Golden Dreams ship, the staff are great and food very good and you don't have to pay for the toilet there!

I hope you enjoy Golden Sands as much as we do.

Just had a week there from the 17-24th, we were in room 517 very limited sea view but would be better than the back, very impressed no problems at all, I too was sceptical especially at the price we had paid. The sun will wake you up if you leave the curtains open. I will shortly be putting a review on one of the hotel review pages shortly. Superb would def book again.........
