Hi Loz26,
Have a look at the Anastasis apartments in Santorini, they look superb, and they have a honeymoon suite.

Each of us has a favourite and most of the islands have wonderful places. I would go to Symi because they don't have a Red Lion pub but do have lots of bars and restaurants and a good but small mixture of hotels (and the most beautiful harbour in Greece).
Look at http://www.symivisitor.com for lots of photographs and a wedding page.

But you're not biased RP, are you?

I do agree that Symi would fit, as would Paxos. Can't comment on Santorini, as it's always been one of those places that I want to see, but don't want to visit....

Biased? Moi? OK, just a bit but aren't we all? I'm jealous since I was married in WSM.

Agree Paxos, lovely place, especially for walking. Possibly Thassos or Skopelos. I haven't been to Santorini but I'm always waiting for it to go pop, although I know it hasn't happened for a year or two. Friends have told me how wonderful it is. Whence come the ferries? I think of it as a bit hilly for an airport. It is definitely on my list.

Hi there.
we were married in rhodes last year, and though obviously biased, it was amazing. There are many reviews on the rhodes forum, a huge thread there, have a look and see if you can see anything that takes your fancy! From our own point of view Rhodes gave us everything we wanted for our wedding, if you want any more details leave me a PM with your email address and we can let you know.

We have seen a number of weddings in Skopelos Town, its a popular location for Greek weddings possibly due to the setting and large number of churches on the hill at one end. Not sure how easy it would be to a
arrange a wedding on one of the less 'British' islands though.

I guess thats Weston Super Mare, dont think the beach compares very well to some Greek settings!!

Still has lots of donkeys. Difficult to tell the difference between Weston beach and the Kalistrata sometimes.

Well I suppose there's a certain similarity between Nimos and Steep Holm.....

Back to the wedding front - I believe Agia Galini on Crete is Brit friendly as far as weddings go, haven't been there but it looks like a nice place, with a few good beaches nearby.

Or you could get married on Kalymnos, but stay on Telendos...

Thanks for all the replies.

I will look into all of the suggestions and see what I can come up with.

Keep the replies coming as I would welcome any ideas/recommendations :)

We got married in Parga (OK not an Island, but Greek mainland) in 2000 and it was great! The place remains very Greek and we followed the Greek traditions for the ceremony. All the locals loved it and were very helpful and supportive (and there are no Brit rowdies there)
Full details and "how to do it" are on the INVALID URL website if that helps

I would recommened Kefalos in Kos
You can get married on a little island, with just a church.
you get the boat over its lovely.
then after a taverna....
what more could you ask for
