I've been reading up quite a lot about Goa to get me in the mood for my forthcoming holiday. Below is a piece inspired by some of the things I've read: -
Goa, a cherished part of the world... A reflection of the colourful culture and tranquillity of the Indian continent. A paradise for many, and much more than that for others.... A place where music is a second language, bringing people of many faiths and creeds together.
The idea is simple, you sit by the shores, bathe in the warm water, admire the stunning sunsets to a backdrop of coconut trees, eclectic music and aromas of exotically spiced foods emanating from every shack.
This peaceful way of life makes a perfect complement to the stunning scenery. The gorgeous weather and the wonderfull ambience, make every sunset a special one. Relax as Fishermen pullout their boats while the sun reluctantly gives up its last rays, before vanishing below the horizon.
What a way to forget about the stresses of the British life style.
Goa. It's a state of mind....

sounds similar to the Goa I know of in the 90`s
Do you not think its like that anymore. I suppose its where you go beach wise. I wouldn't say baga is like that, but its still fun.

I just can't understand why so many Brits are willing to put up with things that they wouldn't accept at home - just because it's sunny.
I've been coming to India for 25 years - and to Goa 8 times now and have already rebooked my room for next year.
There must be something that draws me back.

Never been to south. Were going to trip down there on our next visit starting on the 22nd of this month.
The images in my head are of little Vagator & other quiter beaches.
The draw for me is the food, people, price, beaches and the overal feeling of Goa which you just dont get back home.
