Although not self catering we always buy food and drinks for fridge and lunches, I do not think you will be ripped off in any of the supermarkets large or small.
Going up to the top of main shopping avenue (Ave Costa Brava) there is a good central supermarket on right hand side. There is an other a couple of hundred yards on Ave. Ferran Agullo which isup to the right of first one. By far the biggest is off Ave. de Catalunya at its junction with Call. Capita Mestres it can be seen as you are walking beside river bed. They keep changing names but last year it was Chanpion.
Hope you enjoy Tossa.

You will have no problem getting ripped off by supermarkets, the best one we found was near the golden bahia hotel, there is a street just directly facing the hotel about 100 yards down the road from it towards the canterbrica site, very good prices lots of self catering stocked up there, and the spanish used it say no more, nice meats fish etc, the spring onions the size of apples, brought some home lol
Just back from Tossa de Mar and found the supermarkets, thanks!
What a beautiful resort, lovely restuarants, bars, and the view from the castle, wow!
Will definitely be returning......
Thanks
Elaine
Glad to see that you enjoyed Tossa, your second paragraph sums it all up
and am pleased to see that like so many others you will be returning.
We will be back in Sepember for our yearly visit, it's now 17 years since we first went, and although we try other resorts and countries I always feel that our Tossa holiday is the main one.
Only 14 weeks to go.
