I went in 2005 (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed at the Chihuahuas Mastines hotel. (have a review posted on this site for hotel and resort)

Going again in August but staying in the America.

Hi we are also off to calas de mallorca but not until end of July. Went last year and had a good holiday at the America. Kids loved the unlimited ice cream and cokes as all inclusive so we are going back again. I think club cala romani was up near the resort centre about 10 min walk from beach.

Heading to Majorca on the 17th May. Looking at the America as the reviews on various sites look good. Have stayed in the Balmoral twice and found it to be a good hotel also. The Cala Romani is close to the resorts shops and a little further to the beach.

You've picked a really nice resort. The centre is small with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. Tiffanys bar is great for a night out and the kareoke is good fun (something we would never do at home ). Also, there is a grill restaurant with an outside terrace, which is superb for an evening meal out. You can't miss it as it is the first restaurant as you walk up from the America, or directly opposite the Samoa. We have stayed twice at the Samoa and once at the America and had really good holidays at both. The beach is also quite big with a sandy bay, although there are rocks at the waters edge, so take beach shoes with you.

Back from Cales de Mallorca late thurs nite 31.05.07
Had a smashing time, though had MEGA storm 1 day for 3 hours straight down like a waterfall, but that cleared air.
Had quite a breeze whole holiday, this very welcome as temps hitting 90

CDM is great for a relaxing time, but not really a base to work from.
Most places AI, we stayed in club cala romani, so spent most time there (see hotel review). Very quite out of high season, but plenty of shops bars n clubs if u dont want 2 stay in hotel

Will return 1 day as price was FANTASTIC, people were great...
no hooligans, minimal noise, less than an hour from airport..

Its a great resort, 9 A/I hotels take up most of the trade, but I love the place

Did you really pay that price for all 4 people or was it that price per person. Were transfers and insurance included ?

booking through http://www.wshtravel.com (formally wintersunshineholidays) well in advance cost was £225 per room plus £10 discount when booked.
We were in a quad room ( 1 room, 4 beds plus bathroom)
we paid this amount for family of 4 AI. The Inlaws paid the same for 2
Flights with Jet2 were £125 each, plus return transfer for the lot of us Ã"°180
Insurance through Direct was £17 for family.
With taxi this end, dog in kennels for 10 days cost £900 for 4 in half term
flight out 2pm flight return 6.30pm

I also used WSH for my break to the hoel America, double room for the week was £250, but if I probably would have got young children free if I had any,
Went up and seen around your hotel and it looked good, got a good picture of the pool areas. I was looking through WSH for the last week in September for hotels in CDM, but the America was way to expensive.
Might give yours a try.
Off to Ibiza for a week soon to San An bay. Friday week for 7 days staying in the hotel Mar Amantis. Reviews are mixed, but shall go with an open mind.
