Hi Briann - take a taxi into Sousse and you will see dozens of barber shops usually indicated by a linen rail of towels outside the shop. Most are excellent stylists. Locals pay approx 4 dinars for a hair cut (we give them 10 and cheap at the price) - but beware, if they are not busy - you will be in the chair for an hour at the least as they cut hair, massage scalp, snip hair again, rub in perfume, snip hair again, massage scalp again, vigorously rub scalp with warm towel etc etc. Frank loved it, despite the fact that he ended up almost scalped! We quickly learnt that as most of the Tunisian men have their very short, it is a good idea to indicate just how much hair you want cutting off!! When we go into our regular barber shop now, the young man grins and says, " Yes I know Frank - little little" All barbers offer a shaving service as well, but as Frank has a beard he hasn't used that service. Perhaps another HT member can recommend a specific barber. Jenny
Thanks, It was the shave I was wanting most as I never take a razor when we go to Turkey I wondered if it might be the same in Tunisia. I love the shaves I got there with all the pampering.
