Unfortunately yes, no smoking facilities after security.
Thanks for that Luci! She says that she can check in on line the day before, so does that mean that she doesn't have to be at the airport 2 hours before.. Sorry I've never done this so have no idea on the procedure. Thanks
I'm not sure check-in on line saves any time at all -all it does is get your seat allocated in advance
without hold luggage (I could be totally wrong on this) Regardless, even if she checks in early, she will still be able to nip outside for a cig - it is beyond passport control she can no longer smoke. I would advise her to still aim to be at the airport two hours before the flight - it just isn't worth the risk.

Just to echo what Tah-M has just said. I was under the impression online check-in was for passengers Regards
Karen
We flew from Belfast on Monday checked in our bags and then went back out-side for a smoke.
Online checkin can be used by passengers with or without luggage, it supposedly saves having to get in queues, but the last few times I have used it there have been long lines at the fast bag drop off which really defeats the purpose.
As I stated earlier - we had checked in online and still waited an hour and fifteen munutes in the bag drop line at LGW north terminal!! hopeless!
