Taxis are readily available outside the terminal and given that its 15 mins to Lara beach dont pay more than 20 lira day and 30 lira after midnight.

havent booked just yet. (nearly there) It looks like it will be Lara Beach Hotel, whats you thoughts? Just looking for a quiet week with hubby and 2 boys (9 and 4),

Dont really know the hotels that well as most of the time I only go to them to pick up clients and drop off (real estate business) Only one I wouldnt recommend is Royal Wings.

Lara Beach: I took some clients down there to look at property on Thursday and apart from the hotels and beach park not a lot down there But if you are going to just laze about the beach and chill fine. but for other things shopping etc you will probably have to head in to town.

Sounds perfect for us, can you please advise what currency to take? I see from a lot of posts euro seems to be preferred- what would be best to pay taxi?

Sterling is just as changeable here.

I would advise taking just enough Turkish lira to cover first night and then going to bank and changing money there as they give better rates than hotels or exchange offices.

Rate in the banks is about 2.61 to the pound today.
