 Yes it was lovely and we felt privileged to have been invited to witness it!

We were staying at the Sonesta Inns , in Candolim about 5 years ago and a couple were married in the hotel. The gardens are beautiful and the setting was wonderful. We were all invited, and it was the highlight of our holiday.

They arranged it all themselves, it took several visits to get it right but it was a fantastic occasion.

I know it was a nightmare to organise and the hotel management were their usual useless ,unhelpful selves. The wedding celebration was in full swing but 10.30 struck and all music had to stop ...

So good luck to you

Hi

We got married in goa in 2003 and we certainly would not recommend it.

You are best organising a registry office job for the morning of your flight over here and then a blessing in goa.

Took us around 6 months to arrange, we had to visit mapusa every day for a week attending court to be allowed to marry, had to pay various "officials" etc etc and then at the registry office we were told to sign here you are now married :D

However the blessing on the beach the following week was amazing.

Just checked out that melotours website and they are very expensive for what you get.

For example our blessing on the beach cost £1200, however that included foor for 50 people, free bar for 50 people, 3 tier wedding cake, 96 photos x 3 copies inc negs and albums, decorated shack, master of ceremonies, holy man, 2 x elephants to take us to shack, live 4 piece band on a stage outside the shack, about 45 mins of fireworks followed by fire jugglers etc, various large carvings out of fruit, flowers etc, and started at about 4pm and finished late into the night. This was all arranged via bobby at bobbys shack in candolim.

The civil side cost about £300 for the registration and was arranged by Raul prazeres the owner of the prazeres hotel in candolim.

Hi,

Could anyone help to point me in the right direction as to how I would arrange this for March 2008 ?

I have done a search on the forum but couldn't find anything.

My friends would like to get married on the beach in Candolim as this is a special place for them and have asked me to organise this.

I would be greatful for any information you can provide or any experiences you may have had with getting married in Goa so I can make this a special day for them.
:love

Thank you in advance,

Rach

Our friends got married at the Taj Hotel in January! The ceremony was on the clifftop of the grounds. Tables and food was set up there just as sun was setting! Absolutely beautiful! Get in touch with the Taj Hotel in Sinquerim and they will arrange everything! Good Luck.

Thanks Fiona,

I think they will prob get married here in the UK looking at all that but they have already organised the trip to Goa (March 11th 2008).

Is it possible to have a blessing of their relationship if they are not legally married by then ? I have emailed some of the companies which are mentioned above and hope this is possible as this is very special for them (as it would be for anyone).

Thanks again

Rach
