Currently staying at the Verandah Resort and Spa in Antigua. Found out via the 'welcome pack' that guests are being charged an 'enhanced cleaning fee' of $24 per night! This info is NOT on the resort website and is NOT in the package info.
Raised the issue with the General Manager who blames the tour operator for not informing customers. Despite them not disclosing the information themselves!
Dont come here unless you want an extra bill at the end of your stay.
They say enhanced but rooms are cleaned every other day! Go figure! What exactly are you paying for? I've yet to find out.

Having stayed at the sister hotel (St.James Club) a few years ago and had a great holiday, we thought we would try Verandah.
We were given a wonderful bungalow room overlooking the bay but also close to the pool.
Well spaced out complex which gave the feel that it was never too busy. For those not wishing to walk they run electric cart shuttles around the complex.
An adult pool and a large family pool. Could always get sunbeds despite being school holidays and I think a full hotel.
Two small but nice beaches. One quiet and always nearly empty (but with a bar), the other nearer the family pool and had all the water sports. Lots of water type activities and boats to use (free).
Casual snack bar for lunch and dinner, main restaurant with buffet, another table service restaurant and also a fine dinning restaurant (at supplement). During the holiday we ate at all. Buffet was fine but we didn't think as good as St.James Club. Started to be a bit repetitive after the first week.
Evening entertainment a little limited (in bar area below buffet restaurant). During the day one chap who was very friendly with kids and would try to get pool games and alike going.
In summary a nice hotel complex. Very nice bungalow units. Made for a nice holiday break with the family.
