little things add up when dealing with customers,I found this hotel to be there just for themselves to see how much they could rip the customers off.
the staff were not very helpful and only a couple of them ever smiled
breakfast was a joke the food was always cold I don't think I had a hot meal once in a fortnight,I was offered coffee 3 times in two weeks, and that was only because the waiter wanted a cigarette.the drinks were poor from all the bars.the entertainment was awful.the hotel taxi service was a rip off aswell,I will be back in Jamaica next year but certainly not at this place.don't stay here it's nowhere near anything and will cost you 30 dollars a time to go anywhere in a cab

This is a solid 3 star hotel. It is currently undergoing refreshment all over the resort. The rooms are standard, basic Holiday Inn hotel rooms. Ours was of average size with a small bathroom. It was clean and freshly repainted with new appliances and some new furniture.
Check in is easier if you are a Priority Club member and you can join for free on the Holiday Inn website.
We loved the beach as it is divided into little coves. Montego Bay has few natural beaches and this one is manmade. However, we found them perfect for small children, shallow, calm with lots of sea life to discover! The beaches were cleaned daily and were a lovely place to relax.
There are two pools, a family pool which is extremely active and full of life all day long and an adult pool with a swim up bar that is a little more relaxed and laid back, depending on who is there. The Kiddie Fountains were a big hit with my 3 year old.
The bars are plentiful! They are located throughout the resort. Don't be afraid to ask for a stronger drink if you feel it is not strong enough. We enjoy Appleton and Wray and Nephew rum (made in Jamaica) and were always specific in asking for that rum in our drinks, it was no problem. A top tip is to bring a large insulated mug/cup with you. It saves you visists to the bar if you are on the beach.
We found the food to be good with lots of variety. I particularly liked that they served Jamaican food. So, yes, there may be some odd dishes served, but you have to give a little try. You are in a different country! The food was well seasoned and the buffet was always kept fresh. The best Al La Carte restrurant was the Sorrento and YES, men have to wear trousers and closed toe shoes to this one.
Burgers, hot dogs, jerk chicken, ice cream, etc. is served through most of the day and night.
The Kids Club was enjoyed by my 3 year old who we had to drag out kicking and screaming when we went to get him for family time. Make sure to take a few plain white t-shirts with you so they can do tie dying and t-shirt painting.
We are not into entertainment as we like entertaining ourselves. However, others enjoyed it and it was nice to hear some Jamaican music being played through out the resort.
The staff are hardworking and they do need more staff to help improve some of the service.
This was our 4th trip to Jamaica and first time to HI. If we go back to Jamaica, we would consider going back to HI.

First visit to Caribbean. Rooms large and well equipped but very tired! This hotel definitely needs a re-furb. We thought food in main buffet restaurant was excellent (veggie included)and service was very good. Other restaurants (to book) were disappointing and hardly ever open! We enjoyed the evening entertainment - steel band, reggae band, fire eater, etc, but nothing much after 10.30pm although we did see an excellent singer, Shyam Moses, in piano bar. Never anyone in disco! Staff were friendly, reception very helpful(although you cant change

Holiday average - nothing special - location a big let - high price taxis and excursions were your only way out the hotel. A small collection of shops were opposite the hotel.
