Wonderful family run apartments, our host were Martin, his wife and his parents.
The apartments were clean as were the public areas and pool.
The mother cooks bar snacks i.e chips, and full English breakfast.
The entertainment in the reception area consist of bar, pool table, football game, darts, chess and very nice 42" television with a large selection of DVD's for patrons use, a small stocked library was also on hand.
Situated between Elounda and Agios Nickalos we recommend car hire as local buses stop by 10pm and best beaches are not reached by buses.
Would definitely go back again.

It's a year now since we stayed at the Kalithea but time has not dimed our very happy memories of this complex.
Situated half way up a mountain and half way between Aghios Nikolaos and Elounda, the Kalithea Apartments enjoy the most amazing views over the bay of Mirabello.
The apartments lie just off the main road between AgNik and Elounda but are not disturbed by passing trafic noise. This is because the complex is built on a steep slope which is the reason why all rooms enjoy such a spledid view but of course this is not a place for the infirm or elderly unless they are very fit!
There is a large fresh water swimmimg pool with surrounding sun shades and an adequate supply of sun loungers. The pool itself is clean and well maintained and like the rest of the complex enjoys the magnificent views.
The studios and apartments are basic but clean and reasonably well maintained. Our room, and a few others, had what must have been the world's noisiest refrigerators. However, with a bit of ingenuity and a piece of scrap timber wedged in the right place, it was possible to more or less silence the fridge.
The rooms were cleaned and the bedding changed twice in the two weeks that we stayed.
There was a mini market on site but it was poorly stocked and not paticularly cheap.
The restuarant was closed but we understand this was because the Kalithea had just changed ownership and was not properly up and running. For the same reason there was no evening entertainment other than frequenting the rather expensive bar.
Situated where it is, it really is essential to hire a car to get the best out of the situation although a regular bus service does stop just outside the complex and runs to both Elounda and AgNik.
If you want peace and quiet with a stunning view to wake up to each sunny morning you would find it difficult to find anywhere better, especially considering the very reasonable tariff charged by the Kalithea. Incidently, most rooms have air conditioning at a modest 4 euros per night.
As for eating, there are plenty of restuarants in Elounda and at least two supermarkets to buy your daily provisions.
Staff were polite and helpful and put us in touch with a local car hire company, Orion Carhire, the manager of which was charming and gave us a very reasonable hire deal.
Would we go again? Yes we will, although we have been unable to find the Kalithea Appartments in any tour operator's brochure this year. If this remains the case, we will get a flight and book the Kalithea on the internet - the wonders of modern technology!
