I stayed here for 2 long weeks, a week is definitely long enough but I disliked it from day 1. I booked the Maharaja Suite as I wanted a bit of luxury, how wrong I was. The so called enchanting boutique style suite was like a big dark gloomy cave. There is no a/c and it was stifling hot, the fan is too high in the room and does nothing whatsoever.
I could not open the shutters in the room as there was no glass or netting over the windows and the cats would come in to my room. I woke one night to find a cat on my bed !! I dislike cats immensely. I was covered in bites and am certain that a lot of these were from the fleas that must have been in my bed and/or ''suite'' that these cats were infested with. There were always cockroaches in the bathroom. The toilet was Indian style which I was aware of at the time of booking. The so called sunken bath was merely a hole in the ground that you stand in to shower, I saw no plug.
The food was basic but ok. I particularly enjoyed the Masala Dosa for breakfast but unfortunately this was only served once in the 2 weeks that I was there.
The yoga was enjoyable.
What alarms me the most is that Ishi and ''Guru'' Phil are very nice before you book, very nice when you are there but when I returned and emailed them a complaint they completely changed and became very nasty, personal and sarcastic to the point that I am glad that I didn't complain too much when I was there as I would have been worried for myself as I travelled alone.
Love and light !
