Just got back from 2 weeks at this hotel, hotel is in an excellent position with the beach over the road and the hussle and bustle of Bangla road only a 10 minute walk away. Hotel rooms are basic but comfortable, cleaned everyday but not very well, on a few occasions we had to ask for toilet roll, coffee, milk powder and stirring sticks which should have been left on a daily basis. The shower is good but the water is scorching, just when you think you have the temperature right it gives a blast of boiling water.
We were woken up at 1:30am when work men were hammering around the pool, the room next door to us was being refurbed so had all the beds etc. placed outside our door! The bridge that goes over the pool was being refurbed and the smell of the varnish was so strong you couldn't stay around the pool, also work being done to the breakfast room.
We only had breakfast a couple of days, staff were quite rude and abrupt, not even asking if you wanted a tea or coffee. There are 2 bars and 2 pools but the beachside pool has no toilets so you have to walk to the other pool. The spa was good and not too pricey and you knew you were getting a woman. If you do have anything from the bar or room service it is put on a tab on your room, make sure you get receipts for everything you have as they won’t give them to you and will add things to your bill, we paid at the end of each day and they still tried to add things to the bill. I purchased the Internet - what a waste of time the signal is bad and when you do manage to get online it kicks you off.
Bangla road by night is amazing but not for the faint hearted lady boys, pubs and clubs galore. If you get collared by the lady boys from the cabaret show for a picture they want paying and will turn nasty if you don't. The show itself was good, cost 300-baht and you get a free drink, but again they will get you for pictures just as you leave, we had a picture and 5 of them squeezed into the picture and we had to pay all of them.
We did the quad biking, elephant trekking and went to a monkey show, all good and only 1200 baht for all 3, we went to James Bond island by speed boat, amazing day out and again cheap but best of all was tiger kingdom. We had a deal to go into 3 different cages plus we had a photographer, we got a disk with 160 pictures on and the whole thing only cost £57 each, amazing day out but I advise if you go into the cages, have the photographer as you cannot take any pictures from outside the cages as the only people allowed in are the ones that have paid, well worth the money and the pictures are lovely. All in all had an amazing holiday and have booked to go back next year.

This was our second stay at the Seaview, having stayed for a couple of weeks back in 2010. We never go back to the same hotel usually but we liked the Seaview and Patong as a resort and were happy to stay here again.
Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Air con is excellent; the room has a separate bathroom with a shower over the bath. The water is scorching hot so be careful! Staff overall are extremely friendly and helpful on the whole although a couple of the women serving around breakfast time were not only miserable but very slack at their jobs, most unusual for Thailand.
There are two pools, both are nice. The hotel provides towels for the pool area. Sunbeds are very comfy with a big mattress on them however, you need to be up very early to get a position you want as half of the beds have been 'claimed' by 07:15am every day.
The hotel is 10 yards from the beach....just across the road; the road is not too busy at all. The beach is long and sandy and is great for walking; the sea is clear and very warm. The hotel is in a great position because it's away from the bustle of Bangla Road but is only 10 mins walk away at night if you want to get to the manic nightlife (which we did)!
All in all this is a very good hotel and hard to beat if staying in Patong.
