This hotel did not have many reviews when I booked it - so did not have much to go on when we left Bangkok. But trepidation should never have enetered my head as this hotel was wonderful. It was welcoming, friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Fair enough there was a lot of steps, but this hotel is built on top of a tropical hill!! So these were inevitable - once you got used to them they kept you fit but even if you 'don't do steps' as some tourists were saying, you could get the buggy around the grounds and it didnt have that many steps then. The hotel prides itself on being the first one in the area to work towards being ecologicaly friendly - and is doing well on this front. It is quirky with all its recycled wooden furniture, own grown fruit and vegetables, cave like bathrooms which were shower rooms as opposed to seperate shower cubicles. Fantastic picture windows with balcony's. The check in is wonderful with four floating tented deck areas - two on either side of the water garden - two to check in and two to check out. It is luxury and there was a lways a supply of liquid soaps, body lotions, toothbrushes and mosquito repellant incences sticks to burn - not that these were a problem either. The beds were huge with romantic mosquito nets above them - again never used. The dining rooms of which there are 4 different ones, Into the Beach, Into the Med, Into Thai and Into the View - all over look the Andaman Sea - fantastic. There is a regular boat shuttle to take you opver to the hotels private island 'Bon Island' where you can eat and drink and shop for essentials such as bikini's, shorts etc.

Our only compalint is that the hotel is set back form the main road and should you want to leave the hotel grounds without going into Patong or Phuket etc, it is a 15 - 20 min walk, but once you leave the complex there is a fab masage parlour called Friend - 300 Bahts for a full oil massage and worth every penny - in the hotel the spa is expensive. There are some great little restaurants that do not look much but the food is fantastic and averages out at starters, mains and drinks for two people around 400 - 500 Bahts (
