40 minutes by taxi............somewhat longer by bus........worth taking a taxi, but check the fare!!
If your taxi only takes 40 minutes then he is driving much too fast. Allow at least an hour.
We travelled with Thomsons, was going to get a taxi, but ended up just going on the coach / mini bus, it took around 40 / 45 minutes to get to Candolim without going too fast

If you are taking a Taxi then use the rank outside of the treminal because it is cheaper than inside, the cost should be about 675 rupees and it normally takes about 45 to 60 minutes to Candolim/ Calangute.

also worth asking if the taxi driver knows a "pretty route"
