please note we have already sent in one report but felt the need to send the following.when we take a holiday we go to enjoy ourselves and as previously mentioned we did exactly that.it seems to me that some people go on holiday only to return and fabricate some ficticious complaint and declare to the world what miserable so and so;s they realy are.if anyone that is reading this is thinking of taking a holiday on OCEANA then go ahead and do it and take it from me you will not fail to be impressed by her and her crew and you WILL enjoy your holiday.

The ship itself was super, the food was fantasic all the ports we seen were great, My sister inlaw renewed her wedding vows which was a lovely service and great day(if you get the chance I would recommend it. My only fault was the entertainment, we had been on a thomson cruise before and the entertainment was far better. I thought the procedure P&O followed for luggage, imigration and boarding was so organised and a credit to the staff. There were some people on the ship that thought they should be treated like royalty(what I call snobs)
The holiday overall was great and I cant wait to book again

We have just returned from a 2 week cruise around the Caribbean on the Oceana. We had booked an outside cabin with the Liverpool Cruise Club, which we had paid extra for, but were disappointed to find the view was restricted by a lifeboat outside the window, which the Liverpool Cruise CLub had failed to mention. Be wary of booking outside cabins on Deck 7 (D deck) which is where the lifeboats are situated.

The cleanliness, food, entertainment, facilities and service from the staff was excellent.

The Island tours organised by P&0 we found were expensive, ie we went on the fun bus express at Curacao. We got on the bus at 1pm, got to the beach at 1:50, and had to leave at 3:30pm. As it was a Sunday, the beach, was crowded and there were no sunbeds and the ladies toilets were disgusting. The cost was £20.00 each.

A complete contrast to the Island of Catalina, which is where we spent a day on the beach with a barbecue, organised by P&O, and included in the price of the cruise and was excellent.

As a result we used private taxis and negoitated the fares (especially if there are 3-4 people sharing) or we went to the tourist office on the Island to find out the going rate for the tours.

It was our first ever cruise, overall we enjoyed it very much.

Mwife and myself travelled on the xmas cruise around the Caribbean - this being our first visit the caribbean and our first time on a 'proper' cruise ship.
On our first cruise around the Med we had an outside cabin and felt we did not get enough use out of the extra cost we paid so we booked an inside cabin this time - bad mistake you dont know what time of day it is or what the weather is like outside . apart from that the cabin was spacious for our needs/plenty of storage space and well serviced by our cabin steward. The ship is superb, well maintained and kept spotlessly clean. Only complaint about the food there is too much !! and a good choice ,after the first week you could feel the tightness on the trousers! All the staff are friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble for them and quite a few get to know you by your name. We did not bother much with the entertainment but what we did see was good and very professional
The weather was a bit mixed at Xmas but we still saw some lovely islands- Aruba/Tortola/Antigua and Grenada which is still recovering from the hurricane- the devastation was horrendous
Overall an excellent holiday and we would certainly book again or reccomend the Oceana to friends

I have pressed my wife for years to go on a cruise, finally she conceded to go in october / november 2004.My wife I were very pleased with facilities and general cleanliness on board.
Food was quite good with plenty, maybe too much of it.
But you don't have to eat it just because it's there.
Entertainment in both theatres was very good.
My only observation was the smaller lounges/bars were
usually quite full/almost full, which reduced our choice. This as I said was our 1st cruise which we quite enjoyed. So much so that we booked in December for a Med cruise this June. With ,guess who P+O and once again on OCEANA.

We are disabled. I am confined to a wheelchair. Access facilities are excellent. Cabin very large, plenty of room to move wheelchair around. Restaurant/buffet crew very helpful. Food excellent, particularly in the main restaurant. There was a good choice of food also in the self-service restaurant.
We had booked several trips on minibuses with lifts through their Mobility Officer based at Southampton. We encountered staff attitude problems with their onboard tour staff, who were very unhelpful & patronising towards us. The tour guides on the minibuses were marvellous. The same cannot be said about the onboard tour staff. Their total attitude towards us spoilt the entire holiday & we came home feeling very distressed. We have since taken the matter further. In 2003 we went on the same ship to the Baltics and had a fantastic holiday including the tours, again arranged by their shore based Mobility Officer. On both holidays we met & made some wonderful friends whom we have remained in touch with.

This was a once in a lifetime experience: as in, we did it once and will not do it again...
This cruise was an expensive mistake. It was effectively an upmarket, floating holiday camp - and if we had wanted Butlin's, we could have got the real thing a lot cheaper!
Having paid £5k for a two week cruise, the rip off started before we set foot on the ship, with photos being taken on the gangway and offered to us later at £6 a pop. The photo thing was constant throughout the cruise - not quite a scam, but bothersome. Also constant was the kind of jumble sale that took place daily in the Atrium, with the old tut being changed each day. The hard-ish sell got on one's nerves after a while.
The idea that the cabin and restaurant staff's tips (as recommended by P&O itself) made up 50% of their salaries struck me as being immoral. Bar prices were not far off London city pub prices, so there must have been a huge markup on duty free drinks... apart from that, they never missed an opportunity to try and relieve the passengers of their money.
We were obviously not cruise passenger material. And I'm glad to be able to say that, looking at the old and obese who made up most of the passengers!
