I have just spent 30 days on the Star in an inside cabin. Cleanliness throughout the ship was excellent, and although our cabin was smallish, there was plenty of storage space. The wardrobe space was ample, as was the drawer space. The bathroom was adequate, though the shower was fairly small, but again there was plenty of storage. We were also able to store our suitcases under the beds with no problem.

There are two specialty restaurants, plus 3 other dining rooms, a 24hr buffet, a cafe serving fresh rolls, cakes and soup throughout the day, plus a wine bar, a burger bar, pizza bar, and an ice cream parlour. On sea days there were also themed lunch buffets, and on occasion themed buffets in the evenings. Apart from food in the specialty restaurants, the wine bar, and some ice cream, all other food choices are included in the cruise price. We chose to have traditional evening dining with waiter service and the food was wonderful. Should you find that there was nothing on the menu you fancied, then all that was needed was to ask you waiter for something else, and it was provided!! Also if you couldn't choose what you did want, then you could just order one of everything!!! All requests were very cheerfully met, when I did see guests doing just this!! The other dining rooms were open for breakfast and lunch, again with waiter service, and on some days afternoon tea was served in these dining rooms. The food in the 24hr buffet was supposedly the same as in the dining rooms, but on the few occasions I tried it, the same dishes were not available, plus the food was only lukewarm. Every other food outlet was excellent!!

The ships staff were friendly and helpful in the main. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they worked extremely long hours yet always had a smile for the guests. Unfortunately we had a cabin steward who didn't seem to be enjoying his job too much, I did mention it, and although the steward apologised, his service didn't get any better. Other holidaymakers sharing the same steward had the same problems with him. He was definitely in the minority.

On board entertainment was incredible. This was a long cruise with many sea days, and the entertainment staff worked very hard to ensure everyone had something to do should they wish to. There was street entertainment in the Atrium every day, plus musicians to suit every taste in the bars. Daytime events included competitions, trivia, lectures, bingo, dance classes etc. Evening entertainment was of a very high standard, and the shows changed nightly. There were shows repeated on some days at different times, so that guests didn't miss any of them. There is also a nightclub open till the early hours, though not very well attended. Of course, there are also 4 pools to sit by, and there were themed party nights which were very well attended. Also there is now "Movies Under the Stars" twice each evening where sunbeds are given mattresses and blankets, and popcorn is served to anyone wishing to watch a film.

Flight to Miami with BA, Princess put us up in a very comfortabel hotel,Intercontinental West Miami, transfers very smooth. Arrived at Fort Lauderdale cruise terminal about 1:30 pm and walked straight on to ship no lines!Cabin A747 aft facing with 2 port holes right next to aft swimming pool, great location and, unexpectedly, no noise.Had traditional dining 6 pm, too early for my liking but, as ship was full, all I could get. Good, not great food, but excellent service.Beautifull ship inside but outside space a bit cramped especially on sea days. Very good entertainment in theatre and show bars.Though ship was full, never really felt crowded, except on deck on sea days. 400 Canadians, 75 Brits and the rest American.Would sail on her again.

What can one say about this ship? This was our 6th cruise and the best one yet! The ship was beautiful, clean and although it was huge it was divided up so that one never felt lost or overwhelmed. The staff were polite, kind and helpful, and although the Horizon restuarant could get chaotic at breakfast times that was mainly due to the rudeness of fellow passengers rather than the ship's layout or staff problems.
The food was first class and room service was out of this world! All included in the price as well! We had breakfast in bed almost every day and the service was always first class.
This ship had the best onboard entertainment of any I have been on. The shows were exceptional and once or twice the singing made me cry it was so lovely.
Two words of warning. If like us you just want a flutter in the casino, and not spend very much, AVOID THE SLOT MACHINES. They are definitely in favour of the house and you could spend a lot of money with no return.
The ships excursions could also be a bit pricey, so be brave and wander off on your own, bartering taxi prices with the locals. Its fun cheaper too! The only exception to this is JAMAICA where tales of being ripped off by taxi drivers were rife after our visit there.
We will be booking up very soon for another cruise with STAR PRINCESS.

The Star Princess itself was a fantastic liner. Very clean and spacious. The Princess line is just not designed to cater for passengers from the UK. The brochure advertised British Airways as a 'preferred partner'. We travelled with Virgin on the outbound flight - ok. On the return flight we were 'dumped' at the airport 7 hours before our flight took off. We flew Air Canada to Toronto and then had to transfer from one terminal to another (20 minute journey!) for our onward flight. Speaking to the UK passengers, not one of them had a direct flight back to the UK. I feel that Princess do not want UK passengers.

My cruise with P & O was a far better experience.

All aspects regarding the Star Princess were excellent. You never felt the ship move away from dock. One of the best holidays that I have ever had. The Champayne Waterfall Evening was so much fun. Bought lots of photos to remember the occassion.

The only bad thing that I have to say is the changover of planes in Toronto. It made the travelling time for us 23 hours from door to door, which then takes time to recover from this.

We travelled on Star Princess in November 2004 for our Honeymoon, it was excellent, there was a muddle with our Honeymoon details so we ended up with a double celebration free package!! 2 bottles of Champagne, 2 sets of chocolate dipped strawberries and two vouchers for portrait photos! So no moaning from here. The ship is clean, silent, hardly feels like you are moving and teh staff are excellent, everything was perfect about our honeymoon, nothing was too much trouble and everything was to perfection. Only thing, I have read about some passengers coming back from the Caribean and ending up on non direct flights, when our holiday confirmation came through we were booked on non-direct flights out and back, flying via Chicago outbound and New York on the return, I rang them up and requested changing to direct flights and it was changed immediately with no hassles or problems, so in future it may be worth asking? But a truely excellent ship and an excellent honeymoon!

12 night Med Cruise on Star Princess. Super holiday, we had a balcony cabin which was great, plenty of room and storage, bed comfy and our cabin steward was really friendly and helpful, as were the rest of the staff. Like sailing on a mill pond. No other holiday compares, we made some really nice friends and are looking forward to our next cruise. Only real mistake was booking too many excursions beforehand, no need to, you can book on board. They were expensive and to be honest, you do not need or want to do them all once on board. Can recommend Princess.
