Have you been to Kefalonia? I think that could be worth a look if you've not already been there.
Hi puddleduck2! Which would be the best resort. We love Greece, but went to Kamari Santorini last year and found it to be a little quiet. Great restaurants but as we like to eat around 7.30 - 8 there was nothing to do afterwards.
I'd suggest Protaras or surrounding area....that way you can visit Ayia Napa in a taxi if you wish without staying in the resort.
We are going back to cyprus this year but going to protaras being as the children wanted a nice beach.
We stayed at the sofianna apartments right near bar street. Could not hear the noise from bar street of a night. Staff at the apartments were very helpful. Apartments were kept spotless.
We went to Cyprus (protaras) 2 years ago and loved it. The only problem was its the first holiday in 15 years where we ran out of money. As we're off to Mexico this summer we thought we'd try for a low budget holiday next year.
How about somewhere like Olu Deniz in Turkey? There are bigger and more brash resorts but Olu strikes a middle ground with enough bars and restaurants, a good turkish feel and well positioned for visiting Fetiyhe or going up the hill to Hisaronu and lots of trips to go in if you want.
Olu Deniz would be a good choice. Only 4 hours away and ticks all your boxes. Don't be tempted to book Hisaronu, the next resort along. Its very British.

We stayed in Agia Efimia and loved it. Here's a good website with honest opinions and more detail - http://kefalonia.foi.org.uk/rnb.php?action=details&place=agia%20efimia
See what you think and then if you click the back button on teh browser that'll take you the map of Kef and you can click on other resorts to read about them.
Whoops! Sorry just realised of course you won't be able to use the back button on that link will you
Thanks will have a look. What's the harassment like in Olou Deniz? I don't mind a little but I don't want people following me down the road.
No problems at all. Turkish resorts have clamped down on that sort of stuff. People will ask you to look at their menus etc. but a polite no is all that's required.
What is the transfer time from the airport to the resort of Olu Deniz please?
Transfer is about an hour and 15, but a lot depends on how many other hotels your TO's coach stops at as well.
Many people recommed private transfers to save time, personaly I quite like the TO's transfers they are normally nicely airconditioned and its a bit like getting a free trip to start your holiday. I like looking at the other hotels we drop off at as well. How sad am I?
