instead of looking for free places [there are no such things if your not paying for him then someone else is...you don't get owt for nowt] why don't you look at an independent to build you a holiday or DIY

for a start .. try looking at hotel beds.com and med hotels, and see what you can find in the way of cheapest accommodation to your requirements, if you can escape with low baggage weight each then look at Ryan air and easy jet [or any other budget airline from your local airport] and see which destinations they go to... hint flights to Spain and Portugal are usually cheapest......remember you will need to allow for transfers or hire a car...

let us know how you get on...

Scully, I noticed today on the First Choice website they had free child prices to Hotel Side Star Park in Turkey AI. For example 21 July from Luton, 2 adults, 1 child (free) comes to £1936 for 2 weeks. I must add that I haven't looked at any reviews for this hotel, just thought I would mention it because they seemed to have lots of free child places and it gives you one for a 13yr old.

As there are three of you it should be quite easy to get a reduced rate for third person in a room. I have been on holiday with two friends a couple of times and we always got a reduction because you basically book a twin or double room so the third person gets a small bed in there.

Surely 3 adults in a room would qualify for an over occupancy reduction?

That's what I was going to say!

I think you have to look at this from two directions. If booking direct with a hotel you may still get a child discount and should look for it in their details. But, if booking with a package operator play them at their own game, if they class him as an adult look carefully at the supplements panel normally under the prices in the brochure and see if there are any negative supplements (ie discounts) for extra person in room. The only problem will be that these savings are hidden away in small print unlike the free/discounted chld prices which are clearly marked to get your attention.

Balkan holidays are showing a number of hotels for Summer 09 with child prices up to age 16 in Bulgaria & Croatia. Visit rheir website, click on terms & conditions, then on Children's rulebook, and you will see the list of hotels and their child age limits

Two of my three kids normally get charged as adults as Adults because there is five of us and normally get two rooms so they count us as four adults and one kid. This doesnt really matter on the cheap lates for self catering, but for All Inclusive they want around 4 grand (yeah right , i dont think so!)
My kids are only 5, 9 and 10 too.

hi! I am single mum and have paid for 2 adults since my son was 10yrs(he is now 14) that has always has worked out cheaper for me as I dont get an under occupancy supplement added on! Some apartments allow child prices to age 15 (try olympic holidays) hope this helps!

we are going to le-meridien hotel in hurghada egypt this year. with my travel this hotel charges child prices til 14 years. as i booked last year for this year i got my daughter a free child place. she is 13.
i find the price reduction on 3 adults not very much at all, we also got this as there is my 16 year old in the room too but the reduction was only about £40. much better if you can find hotels that have free children. the only other way is self catering as the child age is usually up to 16 years.

I bet they won't be classed as an adult when they go to the bar! :cheers
Besides I reckon most of the kids on H/B eat £20 each of ice cream each night! :)

Not sure how much you want to spend, but Virgin holidays to Florida have child prices up to age 17. A typical price for the child is 50% of the adult price, plus a further discount on top.
