Hi All,

First time posting here and hoping I can get some advice on my first trip to Thailand. Me and a friend (both in our early 30s) are going to Thailand beginning of August for 2 weeks. .

I am looking for some recommendations on hotels and any general info people might think helpful. I hear the weather is in the monsoon season!

The plan so far is:

Bangkkok - 3 nights
Looking at staying on khao san road but am also interested if maybe it’s better to stay somewhere near the skytrain and just visit khao san road. I am looking at Rikka hotel, has anyone been here?

Phuket - 1 or 2 nights
I think we’re going to fly from Bangkok to Phuket and while here take a trip to Phi Phi island. Has anyone done the monkey island tour?

Krabi 1 or 2 nights.
Both me and my mate enjoy rock climbing and have heard Krabi has some good places to try. Any recommendations where to stay?

From Krabi we plan to spend the rest of our holiday at one or two of the islands like Ko Samui and Ko Tao to give the scuba diving a go.
Does anyone have any recommendations where to stay, diving centres that they would recommend?

Any input / experiences anyone would like to share would be greatly appreciated.
